ogre exception with reinstalling

    recently i had to yeet all the files off my computer (to try and fix something), then reinstall everything.

    When I reinstall the game, it seems to install fine until you try to start the game, getting this message

    which i've never encountered in previous installations of just merely downloading the setup, and then running it. any suggestions on what to do?

    running on windows 10 home.

    old versions of threads like these suggested downloading directx, but it appears i already have it, and it's not available to download? :O
