Mane problem

So I don't normally rage but today this little piece of data is really starting to drive my patience. I wanted to work on a preset for my foster dad when suddenly every time I put a mane on the preset it appears white. I've tried changing file formats, I made sure everything was correct and nothing appears to be working.
Do I need to specify a mane choice?

1.) is everything spelled correctly?
Yes
2.) does your name of a space

3.) Is everything in the folder?
Yes
I really need to get this done and any help is appreciated.

 

There's one thing nobody can know;
Did you name the files accordingly? Sometimes a specific mess up with ruin it all. I know you stated you correctly labeled everything, which it appears so, but there's obviously something missing (perhaps the file is too small/big)

 

Yep I labeled them according to what you guys said in the thread. You said username_character_mane.png
Unless the texture file wasn't suppose to have that extention
But now get this
I get the ugly yellow black when I'm logged in but white when I edit

When it has black/yellow, it usually means a missing or corrupt texture. You don't actually need the added extension of .png typed manually! Its weird sometimes to make presets, but you're doing great. Sometimes you just need to be patient. Have you gone in and just, taken everything out, and put them back in, copy and pasted them to desk top, and deleted the ones in the presets folder? Sometimes the coding goes a-wall and you may want to clear it out first and try a little slower.

 

I was told I needed two different files. The last time I put it in the same material file the same thing happened. No matter what I do it doesn't work.
I keep doing what the tutorial says and it doesn't work
So tell me
How does this keep happening when
A.) It's saved as a .png file
B.) it's labelled correctly
How do I get the game to correctly understand that the character has a mane? Is there a better way of doing this? How soon can I get a Canine mane UV so that way I don't have to continuously have this problem?
I apologize for sounding rude or upset I'm just really fustrated ;3;
I want to surprise my foster dad but I can't give him this if the mane isn't working. I just don't know what to do. Every time I change file extentions or double check everything is right it just doesn't work. Could it be because the preset maker is flawed? If so then what can I do to fix the problem? Is there another way of fixing this?
