    To only edit part of a character's pelt and not the whole thing? Like, if I had an all brown character made in the editor, and just wanted to do custom markings on the flank and possibly the tail, could that be done?

    If you were going to have a custom marking everyone should have the right to use it, whereas a preset is a private addition. What I'd do is make a brown preset (with the fur texture, whatever you want) and add those special markings, you can even make them glow, move or be transparent in a preset! You also have a lot of freedom with a preset versus markings.​
