Game won't start

Hey! I wanted to play this again but I've redownloaded, reinstalled, uninstalled, and deleted all the game files multiple times so I thought I'd leave a thread and see if I can get any help.
Whenever I try to start the game (through admin and without it) the command gets as far as this and then closes itself every time.
I gave the update exe a click and it says it loads up to ~3500kb and closes.
Looked at the help forum for a minute and I've tried installing the doe_minimal.rar to see if it'd make a difference and tried installing it multiple places but I haven't had any luck.
I don't get any popup errors or anything, just what I've described above. Anyone have an idea of how to fix this? Thanks
