DirectX 12 and Windows 10 Error

    So I haven't played this game in forever and got a new Win 10 laptop (Microsoft Surface Pro 4). I've installed the game and went to startup and I get the DirectX ogre error like the download page referenced. So I went to get the newest version of DirectX, it turns out I have DirectX 12 already and that for Win10, I can only update it when my computer decides to do Windows Update. Is there an older version I need, and if so how do I override this so I can play DoE?

    I'm having a similar issue, I got a new hp windows 10 and I get an error about Direct3D9, I click the link for it on the download and its still not working even though I have Xdiag
