How do I make a billboard trasparent?

    You know, the same thing they use for the welcome to DoE sign?

    When I tried making my own billboard texture (and by that I mean I used the texture for DoE's moon) it ends up looking like this

    Why is this happening? The image is transparent!

    It's the same texture that is used for the normal moon, no clue why there is a white box.... ;~;

    The billboard needs to have a completely black background + its own material file, which would probably mean making a copy of the moon tex and making its background black

    Sounds about right, i'd make my own for a map but *islazysojustgunnausetehoneswehavealrerady* dont think im quite ready to make my own stuff for maps just yet
