Solved game not working when started up

    Whenever I attempt to open the game whether it be from the direct folder or a shortcut it doesn't open, it loads through the black updating screen but doesn't let the second pop-up or "OGRE" thing appear.

    I've re-downloaded, restarted my computer, deleted the game, and run it as an administrator, I cannot figure out how to make it work again.

    I'm also running on windows 8 although I have a windows 7 shell that allows me to function it as if it were windows 7, it was working fine before it just crashed and decided to give out on me.

    Go to Computer > Local Disk (C: ) > Dawn of Eternity > game. Is the RenderSystem_GL.dll file there?

    If not, you can download it here. I think that might work. If not, was there any kind of error that popped up after the updating screen finished?

    EDIT: Your game file might also be saved in the wrong place or something... Maybe, when re-installing, saving it to a different place might work, like Downloads instead of Local Disk or vice versa(depending on where you saved it in the first place). That would prevent you from trying to open it from the wrong area, or from running the wrong version. I had to do that with my FH once.

    Your Windows Firewall or anti-virus software might be blocking something, as well, so maybe check that out and see if you can let the Dawn of Eternity program through.

    Maybe try changing your compatibility mode with this tutorial? That might work, but I'm not for certain on it. :u

    Your updatelog is exactly the same as mine, and my game runs normally. But I have Windows Vista, so Iunno.

    where would the ogre log be? I only see the ogre.cfg

    Should be right next to the ogre.cfg, it might just be called Ogre if you don't have file endings turned on, open it with a text editor.

    Uhhh, that's really strange. It stops/crashes without any error when it's about to detect your drivers. It's even weirder if it was working before. Try updating your graphics drivers maybe?
