I know Rika stated she wants dragons so I figured I'd draw my take on them.

I didn't draw ears or horns because I feel those would be added in the character maker.

The wings are still items hence why I only drew them in the flying animation, If you want a better a better idea of what's going on I imagine it'd be something akin to the flying animation the IT server Myatar Legends uses.

Why are they on hind legs? Well here are my reasons.

    1. Because no IT server has done two legged animals. (That I know of)

The closest I've ever seen to two legged animals on an IT server is presets that remove a set of legs or the Furry Hell mod of FeralHeart. It would probably draw in a lot of players for that reason alone.

    2. It fits well within the game’s lore

The twin gods are dragons so why should the playable ones be different?

    3. It would be creative compared to how dragons are normally.

I mean the only IT server I have seen with dragons is Dragon's Den and those ones are only on fours, if people want to have their characters on hind legs they would flock to this server in floods.

    4. I have a personal bias and all of my dragon characters are on their hind legs.

What can I say, it just looks cool!

    5. It’s what Rika wants

I mean let's be real, Rika is one of the main reasons this server is so great. Why should we take the easy route and make them on all fours when we can do something creative?

I actually like the design of em *o*
    They would also go along with the games setup if they resemble something similar to this. Seeing the staff liking to create realistic textures, I can only imagine the types of scaling we could see. Tufts are a must. Dragon neck fluff and tail floofs ;o;

I'll be over in the real critic corner with:
No, i'm not really feeling it with this idea.

I probably sound offensive but... It needs a bit o' work. (Which i never even do)

Heyhey no need to go on ahead and bash people for having an idea.
Needs work? idk I kinda like it :U Hind footed dragons seems like a cool idea. With a few ear & tail types, we have a model to work with.
Concept art is only begging stages, if ye'd like to contribute be our guest and help along with a project if it doesn't suit ones fancy.

Needs some thorough concepts. But, since i never do that kind of thing, i cant have a say. And, @Snuggypink i dont have to be super gushy over every idea. There's ups and downs, and gee whiz sorry if im not into it. Plenty of people hate me, and i dont really care.

This was basic on purpose, Ears and Horns would be added later.

This is just my idea for the base model, I didn't wanna confuse people with a hyper detailed drawing.

And "real critic corner"? It doesn't count much as a critic if you don't say the problem in the first place, all you said is "It needs a bit o' work."

I really like the concept, especially considering that bipedal Dragons are definitely not seen very often. With a bit of work, I think this could add a really unique flavor to DoE.

I know that these are meant to be quick, simplistic concept sketches, but one thing I noticed is that, while the dragon is definitely standing on two legs, it still feels as though it has the anatomy of a quadrupedal animal--in other words, it looks as though it walks on all fours and is just rearing up on its hind legs. As you move into developing more complete concepts, you might want to think about how to re-work it to anatomically look as though it were built to be bipedal, by straightening the back up a bit and adjusting the limbs as necessary. You could even do concept drawings of just rough skeleton designs to help with this :)

Overall, fantastic concept! I can't wait to see how this turns out ^-^

    Thank you.

I think I had a poor reference, All of my hind leg standing dragon toys that I have have their legs like that so that's just how I thought it was meant to be. ^^'

    No problem ^^

Yeah, toys can be hard to use as a reference at times. You might try hitting up Google Images and searching for Argonians (from the Elder Scrolls games) or even Marvel's Lizard Man. Both are excellent examples of reptillian anthropomorphic design :)

Your post inspired me to draw some dragons too! (Although they do have a slight dino/bird-looking bias. I based them on Penelope from Barbie as Rapaunzel ^_^'. I think we're looking for a lizard-like Western style dragon, and not other dragon variants like Wyverns and Chinese dragons?)

I was never much of a dinosaur fan but those animation ideas are pretty sweet, All I really had was flying and attack animation in mind.
